Qld Branch: Self drive tour to Glen Innes region

Enjoy chilly mornings and evenings by the fire. Meet garden owners and visit their private gardens. Taste regional foods and explore Ngoorabul country.

Meet at Aratula, Cunningham Highway on Friday 10th May at 10 am for 10.15 am departure. 11.30 am arrival at Rivoli Farm, Deuchar, (near Warwick).

Itinerary includes visits to private gardens en route to Glen Innes and on return drive, a day of garden visits around the Glen Innes area on Saturday, a dinner served in the ambience of Waterloo Homestead. Full itinerary and directions will be provided to all participants nearer to tour.

Cost: $450 pp twin share $550 pp for single room. Included in the cost – All garden visits, 2 nights accommodation at Waterloo Station Shearer’s Quarters and/or cottages, two dinners – one at The Shearer’s Quarters, one at the Homestead, two self catering  breakfasts, Friday light lunch and Saturday boxed lunch. Supply your own beverages for the trip.

Accommodation: Historic Waterloo Homestead, circa 1908, Matheson (20 km west of Glen Innes). Waterloo Station is a 4,000 acre rural property and has been home to some notable people over the years. AGHS members Deborah and Donald Anderson are the current custodians and you can expect a warm welcome. View Waterloo Station Homestead
