Synopsis
Dr Ian Telford of Invergowrie, Armidale recounts his career in botany from beginning at the herbarium of Canberra Botanic Gardens – now Australian National Botanic Gardens – which has taken him all over Australia collecting specimens and inspired further study to attain a M.Sc. and PhD. from the University of New England where he is now Honorary Curator of the NCW Beadle Herbarium. He describes how he and Doug Moffatt restored the heritage garden at Invergowrie, established 1876, using a 1919 rose planting list, old photographs and oral histories.
