We are the Australian Garden History Society (ABN ), a not-for-profit organisation based in Australia. We promote awareness and conservation of significant gardens and cultural landscapes through engagement, research, advocacy and activities.

Scope of this policy
The Australian Garden History Society, referred to as ‘we’ ‘us’ and ‘our’, is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information that we collect from you, hold and use. ‘Personal information’ is simply information that identifies you. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles, found in the Privacy Act 1988.
This policy applies to personal information that you provide to us directly, through online channels, and personal information that we receive from third parties.

a. Personal information we collect
The type of personal information the Australian Garden History Society collects and holds includes but is not limited to your:

- shipping address;
- gift recipient contact details;
- Australian Business Number (ABN);
- purchase details;
- IP address.
For certain retail transactions, the Australian Garden History Society may forward to a financial institution but not retain certain personal account information, including your:

We collect personal information about members, conference registrants, online store customers, referrers, website and newsletter subscribers, and people who make enquiries or otherwise come into contact with us.

- via documents, such as membership forms, registration forms and purchase orders;
- during phone conversations with you;
- written enquiries and contact;
- from third parties, such as referrers;
- at society/community events.

The Australian Garden History Society will only use or disclose your personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected, or a directly-related secondary purpose. a. Sale of books, magazines, publications and souvenirs
The Australian Garden History Society will use your personal information to provide or assist in providing products as described on our website. We may need to use it to contact you, provide advice to you or prepare documents to assist with the purchase process and decisions.

How to complain
