Tasmania Branch: The off-season – Oatlands in July
Embrace being a winter person in this charming Georgian town
Exploring Tasmanian gardens, landscapes and the people involved with Jean Elder and Rhonda Hamilton who have conducted 18 oral history interviews for the Tasmanian component of the Australian Garden History Society’s National Oral History Collection – “always informative, occasionally humorous and sometimes surprising”. The venue is the 1829 Supreme Court House, toasty warm with open fireplace & electric heating.

Alan Townsend, Heritage Projects Officer with Southern Midlands Council, will lead a lively walk through the town with emphasis on topiary, cows, hidden gardens & historical gems before a warming lunch at the RSL.
