WA Branch: Christmas Party 2022
4 December @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm AWST
The 2022 branch Christmas party will be held at Pensioner Guard Cottage, 1 Surrey Street, Bassendean
Pensioner Guard Cottage c1857 is the oldest building still standing in Bassendean. It is a two room cottage built by convicts for Pensioner Guard John Law Davis, a former private in the East India Company. It was one of four brick homes built on two-acre blocks facing Surrey Street which had been set aside late in 1854 for a Pensioner Guard ‘village’. In March 1987 the cottage was added to the register of the National Trust of Western Australia and in September 1994 it was also included in the State Register of Heritage Places.
