Expanding Horizons
In 2019 the Australian Garden History Society held its 40th Annual National Conference at the National Museum of New Zealand,Wellington on 25–27 October 2019.
Conference presentations were given by:

- Clare Shearman – ‘Old Treasures New Secrets’: my experiences managing historic gardens and some fun tales behind the scenes
- Fiona Eadie – The wonderful world of NZ plants: what have we got and, more to the point, where did they come from?
- Gillian Deane – Then and Now: a love story of NZ flora over time, from Sarah Featon’s paintings in the 1880s to Gillian Deane’s garden from 1995
- Bee Dawson – God, Guns and Gardens: missionary gardens in the Bay of Islands
- John Adam and Louise Beaumont – Muriel Mary Lysaght Watt AILA (1917-2005): my brilliant career
- Stuart Read – Three ‘S’s: Singapore, Sydney, Spain: keeping botanic gardens relevant in today’s world
